-----Location - Keeper HQ Worldship Tower C, Deck 9 - Krux
-----Before Althalia could answer, she found herself being barreled into by her tiny Vice Captain. She beamed brightly as she caught Tsukiya, barely managing to stay up on her feet as he tacklehugged her. "Dude! Tsuki! It's great to see you again!" The captain laughed as she set the Lyn back on his feet between her and the other vet.
-----"I don't know how good I'll be at any of this leadership stuff Capt', but you can still count on me to knock around anyone that tries to lay a hand on our team."
-----A wide grin spread across her face in return as she saluted. "Well, y'won't be the only new leading figure here - was just promoted a few weeks ago, so we're kinda in the same boat, dude," Althalia replied, with a crack of sheepishness in her voice. "Commander Tyler's started us off with a small-scale mission schedule to help ease us an' the new grads into the real stuff, which I'll brief ya' on when most everyone gets here - but let's do our best and make everyone feel welcome, Tsuki!"
-----Tsuki pulling out the file reminded her - she pulled a crystal from her back pocket and released it into the air in front of her. It hovered for a moment quietly and then split in two, opening up a hologram screen with a scrolling roster of Team 6-VZ. She may not be teaching at the Academy for a while, but that was no reason not to report attendance. "You're in luck, Vice Cap'n - here comes the first arrival~"
-----A rather tall Aquilino approached and introduced himself rather awkwardly. "Sorry. Sorry I um...Exaltare Sywin Lorcheild En'an Zynn. Of course, most just call me a shortened version of Exaltare. My Dad called me Ex but whatever you'd like is fine. It's a pleasure to meet you Captain." Althalia felt a little bad for the fellow Iaravine as she returned the hand (claw?) shake; Exaltare was covering it up as best as he could but his rustled feathers told the whole story. After checking off his name on her hologram tablet, she lightly slapped a gloved hand on the engineer's shoulder reassuringly and smoothed out his feathers, responding casually in their mother tongue,
-----"Welcome aboard, Exaltare! I'm Althalia Ivalai Savir Saloshin, House Saloshin - but don't worry 'bout the formalities or anything dude; you're with friends now. You can call me Cap or Althalia, whatever you're more comfortable with, man." She smiled brightly up at the Aquiline as she returned to Collective Standard. It was good to see another Keeper from her world every now and then - it'd been a long while. "Lookin' forward to working with ya'!"
-----Before long, the next Junior stepped forward, this time an elegant-looking redheaded swordswoman with a calm and noble air about her. Junior Keeper Fournier, recently graduated from the Vectus Keeper Academy. Reporting for duty on my first assignment. Reporting to Illustrous Captain Athalia Saloshin. It is a pleasure to meet you and all others on crew... and though I am inexperienced, I hope to get along with everyone."
-----Said Illustrous Captain checked her off and saluted, keeping up her welcoming smile. "'S an honor, Fournier - heard good things 'bout you and your family! No need to worry 'bout the formalities from here on out, though; you can just call me Cap'n or Althalia if you like, and if y'want I'll go by your first name, too. Welcome to your new family away from your family!"
-----After that, Althalia's face began to hurt a little from beaming so much at meeting the new recruits - not that her smile was insincere, of course. When the next recruit stepped up, though, she let her smile drop for a moment in a momentary expression of awe at the Sidhe Keeper's glowing knotwork tattoos. "Innis Nic Fionn, reporting to Captain Althalia Saloshin. It is my pleasure to serve~"
-----"Pleasure to work with ya', Innis!" the captain greeted, shaking her gaze from the mesmerizing inkwork before offering a handshake with a smile and a slight glimmer of curiosity. "Lookin' forward to seein' what you can bring to the team; 've never seen Sidhe in action before, but I've heard stories. Welcome to 6-VZ!"
-----"...Nein Benitez, reporting for duty." It took Althalia a moment to find where the voice came from; she looked down and found the cyborg pilot, maintaining a formal stance as well as his distance. She smiled warmly at him and checked off, before patting the navigator's shoulder reassuringly too, hoping to get him to relax a little.
-----"Welcome to the family, Nein! You'll be working with me and Tsuki on the bridge - looking forward to getting to know ya'!" She nodded to him and then everyone else before checking the tablet again. "Well, since most of us are here..."
-----"Um, excuse me... I, uh, was here the whole time..." came a quiet voice from the back of the new arrivals, close behind Nein and Innis. The cyborg, startled, spun around a little too hard to find the source of the voice, the circuitry under his skin flaring white. Equally startled by the shorter Keeper's response, the cloaked figure jumped and they both fell back, Nein falling with a hard clang on his metal rear and the newcomer with a rustle of loose cloth.
-----The rather boyish-looking woman quickly scrambled to her feet, apologizing profusely as she tried to help him up by his hands. "I'm so sorry! I-I didn't m-mean to-"
-----"No, stop - just - unhand me!"
-----That demand ended up being far more literal than the cloaked Keeper saw coming, as Nein's arms, well - fell off, detaching from his shoulders with a terminating buzzing sound. She looked at the arms she pulled off, then at the man she literally unhanded, then back at the arms, then shrieked tearfully at everyone.
-----Althalia nearly freaked out as well, until she saw the mildly amused look on Nein's face. She planted her face into a hand and gave Nein a scolding look from between her fingers. "... Was that really necessary?" The Captain walked over to the sniffling Junior and patted her back before taking the cybernetic arms and reconnecting the magnets in the wrong sockets so his left was on his right, and his right was on his left.
-----"J-junior K-keep-p-per A-A-Acira Ad-drastos, C-codename Ch-chickenlegs, R-recon, R-r-rep-p-porting for d-duty, C-captain!" the recruit stammered, between shaky sobs. Althalia, suppressing a snort at the nickname, put her hand on Acira's shoulder and hushed her, sizing her up as the Saeculoran courier took in a deep breath to steady herself. Acira's presence felt... not just timid, but nonexistent. It was normal for Keeper agents of the less overt sort to be trained in suppressing their Auras, but hers felt like it'd been reduced to a mere peep, overwhelmed even by the presences of the non-Cyrasili on their team... like a ghost. The captain made a note to herself, as she checked off Acira's name, to keep an eye on her - they would probably lose her easily in a crowd if they weren't careful.
-----"Welp, welcome to the family, Acira - hopefully the rest of our flight will be a little more, ah - comfortable than this, and we're all gonna get along! Right, Mr. Benitez?" It was more of a demand than a question, as she Althalia shot a look at the cyborg. "Right. Anyway! As I was saying, now that most of us are here, I'll brief you on the mission - do me a favor and inform our late teammates when they get here, yeah?"
-----Clearing her throat, she continued, "This is a D-Class mission, so we're not looking at anything too out-there, probably. Should help ya'll get comfortable in the shoes you're 'boutta fill. We'll be headed out for the planet of Mehevae - a vacation planet of sorts, but let's get this straight, guys - we ain't here for a graduation vacation. We'll be investigating a series of abductions that've garnered the attention of international security and, well, us. Details and additional information are available in the Archive through your cabin displays. Two to a cabin - you guys are old enough to figure out who gets top and bottom bunks. We've got a night from takeoff before we get to our destination - so use this time t'get to know your fellow teammates 'fore we arrive."
-----"Other than that, welcome aboard the Ladybird, 6-VZ! I'm Captain Althalia Saloshin - but y'seem like cool dudes, so just call me Althalia if y'like. Some of you might remember me as Professor Saloshin at Academy, and I've no problems with y'all calling me that, either. My specialty is Aviation and..." suddenly stamping her boot, she flipped a previously unseen black hoverboard on the ground into her outstretched hand. "Close-quarters aerial combat. And this dude here is your Vice Captain, Tsukiya - his specialty is making things go boom." She gestured toward the Lyn with a knowing grin. "And he packs a punch. So don't mess with 'im, yeah?"
-----"So, any questions?"
