History
Exaltare was born the youngest child of seven in a very traditional, middle class family. They lived outside of Hylravi, in one of the other seven nations of Iaravi and one of many families that disagreed with any interaction with the keepers or outside worlds. As an incredibly young child, he was taught to stay away from the keepers. That they were dangerous people. But the young Exaltare was fascinated by the idea of a group people whom he believed to be superheroes with super powers.
He often heard of his oldest brother and sister leaving home to go to Hylravi. At first it was to get away from their authoritarian parents. However, the plan became more than that when his sister's nexus manifested. The night his two siblings planned to leave, five year old Exaltare packed his bags and chased after them, begging to be brought along. He pleaded to be allowed to see the magical new place they always talked about and to meet superheroes like his big sis. Naturally, just the wide eyed look of wonder on his face would have been enough to convince them.
After arriving in Hylravi, Exaltare's brother took up raising him while their sister left to join the keepers. His brother taught him as much as he could between work shifts. He taught him the four core subjects - english, history, math and science - along with how to effectively use vylli and spirituality. Exaltare's interest grew in all areas, wishing to know more and more everyday. He continued to learn about all of the basics of all the big three science concentrations, delve into his world's history - especially that of the Immortals - and mediated everyday to connect with his inner self and develop his own skill. He excelled at everything he did, something that often intimidated the neighborhood kids and earned him few friends. He never let that bother him though, preferring the company of his brother over anybody else.
His older sister returned on a short vacation two years after graduating to junior keeper. The stories that the now 15 year old Exaltare was told acted as a deciding factor. Having learned and explored as much as he believed he could at home, he left to join the keepers. He excelled in engineering due to his innovativeness and easily finished his eight years of training. Whenever he wasn't in classes he was studying and tinkering, wanting to know how everything worked. He especially enjoyed watching the cyrasili train, amazed by the concept of a nexus and the ability to see auras. He has read every piece of literature on the nature of aura and nexi that he has been able to get his hands on, even occasionally adding his own small notes.
Exaltare has spent the last 14 years since his graduation in this manner. He quickly became an expert engineer, kept around HQ in order to aid in the building of things such as new ships, weapons, security systems and the like. In his free time he was left to do as he pleased, spending much of it in his own lab, testing new ways to merge vylli with technology besides the crystalline batteries. And when not in his lab, sleeping, or reading, he watched all of the cyrasili train, documenting every type of nexus he set his eyes on. This quickly became a routine, Exaltare slowly losing his bright spark of curiosity for things that are new and unexplained to him.
In his time with the keepers he heard plenty of stories about one enthralling keeper team - Captain Althalia's old team. He started reading up about this team, quickly becoming enchanted by what he read. So when he learned of team 6-VZ and those who would be a part of it, he quickly requested to join them. He saw it as an opportunity to go and see many new things along side people that genuinely captivated his curiosity. In the days nearing their launch as a new team, he began to feel that old spark of curiosity and excitement bubble back up inside him, assuring that he made the right choice in departing with these people he didn't even know.
